Plot
Mary is a formerly successful psychologist at a hospital who has been fired because one of her patients committed suicide. Simon is about to jump from a bridge since his long-time wife has just died, but Mary tries everything humanly possible to find him and save his life.
Movie
"The Bridge" is based on a screenplay by Ludwig Shammasian, which director Richard Raymond had read years ago. He worked with Shammasian to further stress the pieces in the script he felt were like "film noir", which he wanted to use. Says Raymond, "The story is really Mary's journey, and the emotional experiences that she has to overcome in order to save herself. The way the tale unravels is intense and quite gripping at times."
The movie was filmed at the Shepperton Film Studios in Middlesex and was wrapped on March 22nd 2005. The premiere took place in London in June 2005, paving the way for a showing at the annual Cannes film festival (albeit only to a private circle).
Touring many film festivals, "The Bridge" has been officially selected for the Hollywood Film Awards, the Raindance Film Festival, the Seagate Foyle Film Festival, the Worldfest Film Festival and the Sau Palo Film Festival.
The score was done by guitarist Niko Tsonev. Visit his official website or his MySpace page.
Andrea's Role
Andrea can be seen as Mary Delaney, basically the central character of the movie.
