Jim Corr
- full name: James Steven Ignatius Corr
- date and place of birth: July 31st, 1964 in Dundalk, Ireland
- eye colour: blue
- hair colour: brown
- height: 1.72m (5'6")
- martial status: single
Jim is the oldest of the siblings and plays the guitar, stands behind the keyboards and supports Andrea with his lovely backing vocals, for example in "No Good For Me". His exceptional piano skills can be heard best on "Lough Erin Shore", a song called "Jim's Surprise" (as no one knows how it is really called) and all the other traditional songs. All four siblings were first taught piano, and thus it's no wonder Jim considers this his favourite instrument.
He has been playing in a band before The Corrs were formed and has been touring with it also through Germany, where he lived almost 1 1/2 years before moving back to Ireland. Jim can be seen in "The Commitments" as well and is said to be the one who had the idea to make up a band together with his sisters.
Jim, who is presumably "the onliest man in Europe who hasn't fallen for the Corrs sisters" is often overlooked because all eyes lay on his beautiful sisters (Andrea says the complete opposite: "The attention this man gets!"), but his dry humour helps him to cope with those situations when the Corrs are announced as "girl band".
Another thing worth mentioning about him are his strong beliefs and his interest in formula one, which was crowned by a meeting with Mikka Häkkinen in 2000.
On stage, Jim doesn't talk very much, the line he is most famous for is "Everybody, put your hands up in the air!" (during "So Young"). His role is more in the background behind the scenes, as co-producer and producer of their albums, and on his favourite instruments.
Jim has been linked to many women, but he seems to have found his happiness with former Miss Irleand Gayle Williamson. He proposed to her in November 2005, and only a month later he announced they were expecting their first child together. Jim is the third in the Corr family to have kids - his sister Sharon beat him by a couple of months being the second one.
In May 2006, to be more exact, on May 10th, Jim's finacee Gayle Williamson gave birth to a healthy baby boy, who is called Brandon.
Unfortunately it seems as if they have separated in the winter of the same year. The current status of their relationship is unknown.
From Jim
"I could really live without the bras all over the bathroom!"
About Jim
"We do have a problem with Jim borrowing our dresses, but that's about all that goes kind of wrong at this stage. " (Andrea)
