Trivia

"In Blue" was the eagerly anticipated follow up album after "Unplugged" and features huge hit "Breathless" (#1 in Great Britain, most played song of 2001 in Australia).

"Give Me A Reason" is the song from which the album's title is taken from: "It's not romantic here in blue...". The last line which is "What did I do wrong?" is printed as "I did it too long" in the booklet.

Andrea wrote three titles ("Breathless", "Irresistible" and "All The Love In The World") together with Robert John "Mutt" Lange, Shania Twain's husband. These songs were recorded in Switzerland, whereas the rest of the "In Blue" recordings took place in Dublin.

The album is dedicated to Jean Corr, the Corrs' mother. She had died of an incurably lung disease in November 1999, during the work on "In Blue". Jim once called her "our biggest fan". The song "No More Cry" was especially written for Gerry Corr, their father, to help him cope with the grief.

"In Blue" has been the Corrs' most successful album so far but was not only greeted with positive reactions. Many music journalists stated that "In Blue" was too smooth and presented nothing new, many fans were disappointed that the so-called "Irish element" had been considerably reduced.

Nevertheless it sold over 6.5 million copies, hit the #1 spotin 18 different countries and reached platinum in the United States - what no other Corrs album had achieved before - and in 15 other countries (e.g. Canada, Germany, South Africa, the Philippines, Thailand, Japan and Malaysia). It also went 9 times platinum in Ireland, multiple platinum in Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, the UK, Spain, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands & Singapore and scored gold in Brazil, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Chile.

"Rebel Heart", written by Sharon and the album's only instrumental, was used as the theme for a BBC TV drama of the same name about the Irish Easter uprising of 1916 airing in 2001.

The comedy "Say it isn't so" from 2001 uses "At Your Side" in its soundtrack.

Both "Breathless" and "Give Me A Reason" are featured in the episode "Look who's barking" (#65, season 3, ep. 21) from "Charmed", without the Corrs appearing on the show themselves.

Whereas their last album "Talk On Corners" was written by many other authors, "In Blue" marked the return to the Corrs writing their songs again. Except for the three songs "Breathless", "All The Love In The World" and "Irresistible", all songs were written by the Corrs themselves. "Give Me A Reason" was written by Jim and Andrea, "Somebody For Someone", "One Night" and "No More Cry" by Andrea and Caroline, "Say", "Radio", "Rain" and "Rebel Heart" by Sharon, "Give It All Up" by Jim and Sharon and "Hurt Before" by Andrea.
