Trivia

"Little Wing", which was written by Jimi Hendrix (more...), is a co-work of the Corrs with the Chieftains, another very famous Irish band. It shouldn't stay the only one, they co-operated again for "I Know My Love". On the first gigs, "Little Wing" was just performed with Jim on the guitar and Andrea singing the lyrics. The tin whistle and violin were added by the Chietains.

"Dreams" is taken from the album "Legacy: A Tribute To Fleetwood Mac's Rumours" andn only made it on the album in its second release. It was the first UK hit for the Corrs, entering the top ten easily at a #5 spot. Originally, it's a song by Fleetwood Mac (more...).

The album's title comes from the song "Queen Of Hollywood": "And her friends, they talk on corners...".

"Paddy McCarthy", the album's instrumental song, has been brushed up a little for live performances. One of these live versions (from Wembley) can be found on "Give Me A Reason" singles from "In Blue".

"Talk On Corners" was even more successful than their debut "Forgiven Not Forgotten" and sold (together with the later released special edition) over 9 million copies worldwide. It went 20 times platinum in their home country Ireland and again multiple platinum in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Spain, the UK, the Philippines, Sweden, Denmark, France and Indonesia. Single platinum was reached in Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Thailand and Hong Kong. The sales in 8 other countries, among them Italy, Japan and South Africa, were enough to earn the album gold status.

Together with its predesessor, "Forgiven Not Forgotten", the album occupied the #1 and #2 spot of the UK charts in 1998; something which hadn't happened since the Beatles in the 1960s.
