'O Surdato 'nnammurato

Pavarotti & Friends for the children of Liberia (Vol. 5) cover

The Corrs perform a popular Italian folk song together with Luciano Pavarotti.

"'O Surdato 'nnammurato" is sung in a dialect mainly spoken in Naples and was written during the first world war (1915) as an anti-war song. It's about a young soldier missing his girl at home while being at the front.

A live performance of "Dreams" from the same event, which took place in Modena (Italy) on June 9th, 1998, can also be found on the album.

Opus Tree, The

Wild Ocean cover

John Hughes is mostly known as the Corrs' manager but he is also a very talented musician: he first started out in the 1980s with his brother William in their band called "Minor Detail".

He recently has released a solo album called "Wild Ocean", to which the Corrs contributed in many ways. Firstly, Andrea provided the title, and secondly, all four of them can be heard on the instrumental "The Opus Tree": Sharon on violin, Andrea on tin whistle and with backing vocals, Jim on piano and Caroline on bodhrán.
