"The Hands That Built America"
Catch the Corrs on the soundtrack for Martin Scorsese's movie "The Gangs of New York": Sharon on violin and Andrea on tin whistle are featured on U2's award winning song "The Hands That Built Amercia".
Brown Thomas International Fashion Show
On January 23rd Jim and Andrea were making guest appearances at the Brown Thomas International Fashion Show in Dublin's Point Theatre. The show was in aid of the Christina Noble Foundation, the ISPCC (= Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) and the Chernobyl Children's Project, and Irish and International models together with celebrity models and special guests were raising money for the charities - in the end more than €700,000! Andrea presented a collection of items for the fashion show, and Jim left the music business for a little stint on the catwalk. The other two Corrs, Sharon and Caroline, were also present together with their husbands.

Home coming in Dundalk
It has been officially confirmed by the Corrs that they will be giving a small concert in their home town Dundalk this year. The occasion will be the reopening of the newly refurbished Town Hall. The band will also receive formal recognition from the town in the venue for their achievements to date.

Special Olympics
Sharon and Andrea have been joining Special Olympics athletes on Thursday 6th February to encourage Northern Ireland organisations and the wider public to get involved in the 2003 Special Olympics World Games through the support of an athlete programme.

Caroline is a mum
Congratulations to the happy parents Caroline and Frank- Caroline gave birth to a baby boy on February 12th. The boy who was born shortly before midnight in Dublin's Holle Street Hospital two weeks early hasn't got a name yet, but of course the whole Corr clan is incredibly happy over their new member.

New album
According to a Hotpress article, the new album will very likely be released in October 2003, with 3 songs already recorded and 10 more in the wings. A single could possibly be released a few weeks before the album, which the Corrs are producing with Sheryl Crow's producer Bill Bottrell.

Sharon on Almost Live
On March 17th, Sharon was a guest on the "Patrick Keilty's Almost Live" show's St. Patrick's edition. She talked about the new album and her nephew whom she called "Little Jake". Her husband Gavin was also present in the audience, and Patrick Keilty congratulated him on "winning himself a Corr".

Corrs attend Parker movie premiere
The band was attending the premiere of the new Alan Parker movie "The life of David Gale" in Dublin. It was the first time that Caroline showed herself in public after the birth of her son a month ago.

Corrs win Irish World Award
The Corrs won the award for "Best International Pop Act" at the Irish World Awards presentation at the Galtymore in London's Cricklewood last week. Andrea was there to accept the award on behalf of the rest of the band.

Jim and Sharon at the Meteor Awards
Jim and Sharon were presenting awards at the 2003 Meteor Award show in Dublin on March 3rd, 2003. Winners were among others Avril Lavigne, Westlife, U2 and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

"The Boys and Girl from County Clare" in Cannes | May 3
This year's Cannes Film Festival in May (14th through 25th in France) will see the premiere of Andrea's last movie, "The Boys and Girl From County Clare" (formerly known as "The Great Ceili War").

Rumours about Andrea | May 19
Andrea is battling yet another rumor about her- an army officer (who is accused of having affairs with numerous other female soldiers) claims to have had an affair with her as reported by English newspaper The Telegraph on May 14th. Reacting very quickly, Andrea at once informed her lawyers and had them issue a statement which said the claim was "totally untrue" and had "no foundation whatsoever".

Corrs in Rome | May 23
The band will be in Rome with Quincy Jones as he joins with world and civic leaders to launch the global "We Are The Future" initiative for the sake of children and youth in conflict areas. The initiative will start May 24th with a three-day summit in Rome and culminate with a Global Concert in May, 2004.

Corrs perform at World Newspaper Congress and World Editors Form | Jun. 11
On the evening of Sunday, June 8th, the Corrs were performing an acoustic concert at the official launch of the World Newspaper Congress and World Editors Forum. This important event takes place in Ireland this year for the first time ever and lasts 4 days in which journalists and editors are participating in seminars and meetings. The Corrs' fee for the gig was donated to charity.

Special Olympics | Jun. 19
On Saturday, June 21st, the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics was taking place. The Corrs performed there, and it has also been broadcast on TV (RTE in Northern Ireland, other countries please see local listings).

"C'mon, c'mon" removed | Jul. 17
"C'mon, c'mon", a bonus track on Sheryl Crow's new album "Live at Budokan" which featured the Corrs, has been taken from the original release. It is not clear now whether the song will be released at all.

Corrs to play for Mandela | Jul. 19
On July 19th, the Corrs will be performing in South Africa at Nelson Mandela's birthday party. They are the only international band playing at this mega-event, though many other celebrities, from Bill Clinton to Stevie Wonder, are invited, too. It is even more an honor as Mr. Mandela specifically asked for the Corrs to play at the party. The show is being televised live on South African TV.

Cow Parade | Aug. 5
Together with singer Gavin Friday, Andrea Corr has unveiled a new cow for the Cow Parade. This unique exhibiton consists of 100-150 life-size fibreglass cows which are placed on the streets of Dublin for three months (from June to September), and at the end the cows are sold to benefit charitable organizations. This special cow has been made with the help of children from Sheriff Street After Schools Educational Project and design artist Ciaran Crowley. It is called the "No Cow" and made up of lots of smybols which say no to drink, drugs and violence.

Andrea joins the Rolling Stones for one night | Sep. 13
The Rolling Stones performed in Dublin's Point Theatre as part of their "Licks World Tour" yesterday and had the honor to welcome Andrea on stage, who sang "Wild Horses" with Mick Jagger.

Caroline supports Concert Fast | Oct. 30
Last year, Andrea supported "Concern Fast" and helped to raised 2.2Mio Euros. This year Caroline takes over her role and aims to fund even more (about 2.7Mio Euros). Caroline has joined four Nigerian musicians to drum up support for the Concern Fast 2003, which will take place on Friday, November 28. For more information visit the official website.

"Time Enough For Tears" on soundtrack | Nov. 13
Andrea's new song, "Time for enough for tears", will be released on the soundtrack for "In America" on 21st November.
Sheryl Crow feat. The Corrs | Nov. 15
Sheryl Crow's new album, "The Very Best of", features the long awaited collaboration with the Corrs called "C'mon, c'mon". It will be only available on the European versions of the release.
46664 in South Africa | Nov. 29
Capetown is where the Corrs can be found right now. They are preparing for the "46664" concert initiated by Nelson Mandela to raise AIDS awareness. The concert will take place today (November 29th) at 7.00PM local time (5.00PM GMT) and last about 3 hours. Other artists include Beyonce, Ms. Dynamite, Queen, Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Anastacia, Eurythmics and various South African bands. The Corrs will perform two songs from their repertoire and one together with Ladysmith Black Mambazo which is called "Lelilungelo elakho". The concert is broadcast worldwide via TV and internet; check TV listings at the offical "46664" website.
