'The Bridge' DVD release | Jan. 3
Andrea's latest film called The Bridge will be released on DVD in early April 2006. The release has been delayed a few months because apparently some extra footage was shot for the DVD. It will go on sale through independent stores and accredited fansites worldwide.

Andrea wins Hello! polls | Jan. 14

No Meteor Award for the Corrs | Feb. 3
Unfortunately, the band couldn't gather enough votes to win the Meteor Award for "Best Irish Band" this year. Instead, their colleagues from U2 took home the prize.

Release dates for the US | Feb. 3
As the official site has confirmed, both "Home" and "Live in Geneva" (just the concert, NOT the documentary!) will finally be released in the US as well. "Home" will be available on February 7th, while the DVD will go on sale on March 14th.

Release dates for Australia | Feb. 17
Good news for all Australian fans: the Corrs' latest DVD, "All the way Home / Live in Geneva", will be released down under on March 3rd, 2006.

No new material planned | Mar. 27
Andrea has stated in a short interview with newspaper Daily Star that fans shouldn't expect any new recordings from the band in the near future. She says, "The rest of the family are all pretty busy as they are off having babies and raising families. I'm concentrating on my acting at the moment."

Andrea joins Gavin Friday UPDATE! | Apr. 4
As Gavin Friday has announced on his official website that Andrea will appear on Friday's new album, which will feature "shanties and seamen's work songs". UPDATE! Apr. 6: Andrea sings the song "Tommy's gone to Hilo" together with Friday, plus a solo one called "Caroline and her young sailor bold". Release of the album is scheduled for July 2006 at the moment.

Sharon gives birth | Apr. 5
As the official site announces, Sharon gave birth to her son Cal on March 31st, 2006. His full name is Cathal Robert Gerard Bonnar, he was born at 12:45PM and weighed 5 pounds and 8 ounces. Congratulations to the happy parents from all the fans!

'The Bridge' wins Worldfest award | May 2
Andrea's latest movie "The Bridge" has won a gold award in the category of "Independent short-subject films - Suspense/Thriller" at the 39th annual Worldfest Independent Film Festival in Houston this past weekend. As director Richard Raymond has announced, the DVD for "The Bridge" will be out soon.

Andrea going solo? | May 5
It seems as if Andrea is planning on pursueing a solo career. The Irish Mirror reported she has signed a contract with Warner Music and that an album is in the wings. Also, rumor has it that Andrea appears on a CD produced by Johnny Depp to promote his latest movie "Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest", which features seamen's songs interpreted by modern artists. Among others, Bryan Ferry, Nick Cave and Bono are linked to this project. The as of yet untitled album is set to be released in July. UPDATE! May 6: It appears as if the above mentioned album is the same one Andrea is said to have joined Gavin Friday in.

Jim is a Dad | May 11
Yesterday it was announced that Jim, the oldest brother, is now the proud Dad of a newborn son. The boy will be called Brandon and has been born on May 10th at 4:14AM weighing 9 pounds 13 1/2 ounces. Brandon and his mother Gayle Williamson are both well. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Andrea about to get engaged? | May 17
Rumour as reported by Irish tabloid 'The Star on Sunday' has it that Andrea might announce her engagement to boyfriend Shaun Evans in the coming weeks. Note: this has turned out to be false.

New movie for Andrea | May 22
Being quite busy these last few weeks, we have yet another news item about Andrea to report. She will star in a movie called "Knife Edge" with co-stars Charles Dance and Melvil Poupaud, which will be directed by Tony Hickox. It seems to be a thriller about a husband trying to drive his wife mad after his business fails. There is some uncertainty about the whole production which hopefully will clear soon. Andrea is in Cannes at the moment to promote this upcoming film, so it can be considered confirmed she will play that role.

Andrea's solo album has producer UPDATE! | Jun. 12
In a recent radio interview with Irish station 98FM Andrea has confirmed that she is already in the studio for her upcoming solo album. She didn't reveal very much, just stating that it was a completely different feeling of being alone in the studio without her brother and sisters. Lippman Entertainment meanwhile has announced that Nellee Hooper is the producer of the yet untitled album. He has worked with No Doubt, U2, Madonna and Björk for example. UPDATE! One of the songs on Andrea's solo album will be called "Molly Bloom / Ideal World", and it is probably the lead single. As it appears, the album will be released in fall this year.

More solo projects for Andrea | Jun. 21
As reported in May, Andrea spends her free time with appearing on various other projects than the Corrs. A tribute double CD album called "Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys" which will feature her with a song called "Caroline and her young sailor bold" is set to be released on August 22nd, 2006. Andrea is also a guest star on Laurent Voulzy's new album "La Septiéme Vague", where she appears on the duet "All I have to do is dream". It is scheduled to be released on June 26th, 2006. Andrea's solo album is called... | Jul. 1
Singer Andrea is currently working on her solo album, which now has a title: "Present". It also seems like an EPK (=electronic press kit) will be recorded by Stylorouge to accompany the album and it will feature performances of the all songs on piano alone. Which in turn means that Andrea will definitely play the piano on this record.

Jim joins the Bubblegum Club Helicruise | Jul. 11
The Irish charity 'Bubblegum Club' holds an annual Helicruise, which this year transported 250 seriously ill children from hospitals all over Ireland to Blessington (County Wicklow) in 46 helicopters. Another child for Caroline | Aug. 12
The Corrs' drummer Caroline is pregnant with her third child. The baby will be joining the happy parents Caroline and Frank and their two kids, Jake (3) and Georgina (1), in October. Congratulations from all the fans!

Jim launches charity CD | Oct. 13
On October 19th, 2006, Jim Corr will officially launch the Galway Simon Community's double CD "Out Of The West" at the Warwick Hotel in Salthill Galway. Special guests on the night will be The Maimin Cajun Band and there will also be several appearances by artists who feature on the album. The Galway Simon Community supports homeless people by funding and organising house building projects.

New album this year? | Oct. 13
In his role as worldwide ambassador for the international blindness prevention charity ORBIS, Jim was a guest on Pat Kenny's RTÉ radio show on this Thursday (Oct. 12). Apart from bringing attention to today's World Sight Day, he also mentioned the possibility of a new Corrs album late this year. The Chieftains, Bono and Ronnie Wood were among the names he dropped as probable partners in this project. Download the whole interview...
Bono as Andrea's producer? | Oct. 13
British tabloid The Sun reports in today's online issue that U2 frontman Bono has been linked to Andrea Corr's solo album as an executive producer. However, this being The Sun, this rumour should be taken with a grain of salt!

'Goodbye' as single | Oct. 25
To promote the release of "Dreams: The ultimate Corrs collection", it appears as if "Goodbye (2006 Remix)" will be the lead single. According to Warner Music Netherlands, the remix will be done by Brian Rawlings, who has worked with Cher, Tiziano Ferro, Gloria Estefan, Whitney Houston and Sarah Brightman. There is no word yet on when the single will be released. The release dates for the album itself (alternate title: "Dreams: The Corrs collection") vary from November 17th (Netherlands) to November 23rd (import). Andrea on tour | Nov. 1
According to Irish tabloids "Daily Mirror" and "Evening Herald", Andrea is planning to go on tour with her solo album "Present" in spring 2007. Though no dates have been set yet, there are rumours of concerts at up to 50 venues in Ireland, the UK and the rest of Europe. The newspapers report as well that the launch of Andrea's solo album will be a high-profile event, with the record company willing to back her up with everything necessary to make "Present" a smash hit. Despite her blossoming solo career as a musician, Andrea has insisted this doesn't mean the end of the Corrs, saying "We are all taking a break to do our own things but we'll definitely be back together for more albums and tours in the future."

Sharon in South Africa | Nov. 20
In order to support the Niall Mellon Township Trust, Sharon and her husband Gavin have flown to Cape Town (South Africa) last week to help in the annual Building Blitz. Together with around 350 other volunteers, they will build quality homes in the township of Mfuleni over the course of one week.

Jim and Gayle split? | Nov. 29
According to tabloid Daily Mirror, Jim and his girlfriend of two years Gayle Williamson have split. The newspaper reports that she has moved out of Jim's house and has taken their 6 month old son Brandon with her. Please keep in mind that this may well be made up, and best treat is a rumour until we have confirmation from official sources!

Andrea joins Laurent Voulzy on Christmas | Nov. 29
French radio station RTL will present Laurent Voulzy with the "Album of the Year" award for his bestselling record "La Septiéme Vague", featuring the duet "All I have to do is dream" with Andrea Corr. The show will be broadcast on Christmas Eve (December 24th).

Caroline gives birth | Dec. 5
